On receipt of an application for employment, very careful consideration is given to each applicant and if you are asked to attend for interview you would be asked to provide the following:

Proof of identity, one of which must be a valid photo driving license or passport. Two written references, one of which should wherever possible, be from a previous employer to whom we will refer for a satisfactory response before an appointment is made. Certificates of any training or qualifications. Details of employment history as declared on the application form or CV, with any gaps in that employment history satisfactorily explained.

Satisfactory response to a Health Check form and acceptance of a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be required in order to secure an Enhanced Disclosure Notice from them.

During any interview it will be explained that:

Any offer of employment would be subject to the checking of references and the acquisition of an Enhanced Disclosure Notice from the DBS.

A formal Contract of Employment is required between the company and any employee and so you will be presented with one for your acceptance and signature before employment commences. All employees are subject to the company’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures. A standard question and check list, and the responses to it, are used during your interview and retained to ensure consistency of the interview process. And if all this is satisfactory, you will be welcomed, inducted and trained in the best team of carers in Devon – bar none.
